What is the effect on torque of lengthening the admission holes in the piston?

Does this effect idle?

Should the end of the holes be square or round?

If you are referring to the holes just below the piston pin: it is good to make them elongated, it is beneficial for the transfer ports since they are less blocked during the travel of the piston it improves to some extent the torque
