Hi all!
We're a solex gang from Copenhagen. This summer we drove through Eastern Europe hitting Poland, Czech and Germany on two 1971 5000's ~ 2500km.
Here's our video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O49HQbD4rPwHowever, both this summer (and last, where we made Copenhagen -Stockholm - Oslo)we had some problems with our engines overheating.
We have seen a few videos of Dutch solex-races on youtube and was wondering if anyone on this forum had any ideas on how to eliminate or diminish that problem.
So far we haven't carried out any larger modifications, except drilling a few holes in the muffler.
We have been considering equipping the solexes with bigger carburators and intake/exhaust manifolds.
We don't want to convert the machines into complete racing bikes or anything, we just want them to be more durable, reliable and more heat resistent. (Especially since we're considering driving to Moscow next summer, which, surprisingly, is very hot in the summer!)
We would be happy for any suggestions, knowledge, links etc. - just share!
Thanks a lot, Nicolas and Peter, Giant Centipedes, Copenhagen
