I am trying to renovate a 330. I have checked the ignition coil and find that I have an open circuit on the secondary winding. Should it be like this ? If not is there any advice about where I may be able to get a replacement ?

No, You should not have an open circuit.
<br>The secondary winding on one end is grounded to the ferrite
<br>steel plates to make the "earth" connection. The other end
<br>of the secondary winding is connected to the copper plate
<br>protruding the insulating cloth covering the coil.
<br>This copper plate is the attachment to the high tension lead.
<br>I do not know exactly how many "Ohms" the read out should be
<br>for the secondary coil but you should have a reading.
<br>
<br>Three ways to solve the problem: find a replacement coil, any year should do the job they are all the same size
<br>and should fit.
<br>have a rebuild of the secondary coil by a specialist firm.
<br>and third: replace the high tension coil by a low voltage coil similar to the one used to provide the power for your lights and build a circuit with an external high tension coil
